Mammography Technologist

Mammography Technologist | Watertown, NY 

Our client, a leading breast imaging provider in New York, is currently seeking a Mammography Technologist to join their team in Watertown. This person will be responsible for obtaining quality images in the modality of mammography as outlined by The American College of Radiology and company protocol. The candidate will work independently, yet be part of a team that will focus on the entire needs of the patient. This includes serving as a point of contact for the patient as it relates to her healthcare, performing routine and additional views, reviewing images prior to interpretation, preparing any documentation in the patient's electronic medical record, and acting as a liaison between the patient and physician.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to quality patient care while delivering mammography procedures

• Operate radiologic equipment and perform procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease

• Review images for quality control

• Troubleshoot equipment as needed

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Perform DXA scans on patients as outlined by ISCD guidelines. 

• Contributes to quality patient care, operates DXA equipment per manufacturer's recommendations, and generates reports within guidelines of company physicians.

Requirements

• Two-year program with ARRT registration and New York State license

• Must obtain mammography certification in two years from date of hire

• Basic computer knowledge necessary; familiarity with EHR and PACS systems beneficial

• Ability to maintain great customer service skills in a high-volume facility

• DXA certification required through ISCD

• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as adopt a teamwork mindset within the Technologist department.

Salary: $32-$40/hr depending on experience
