Job Summary:
To develop, implement and manage Allied World's global Broker Engagement strategic plans across all lines of business and geographic regions. This role serves as a key liaison between Allied World and its international distribution network, ensuring consistent brand representation and optimal market penetration worldwide. The position requires driving revenue growth through strategic broker relationships while maintaining Allied World's competitive positioning in diverse global markets. Additionally, the role involves fostering long-term partnerships that align with the company's expansion goals and risk appetite across different regulatory environments and cultural contexts.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Responsible for all elements of distribution management across multiple regions and product lines globally
Develop and execute comprehensive global broker engagement strategies aligned with corporate objectives
Coordinate with regional teams to ensure consistent approach while adapting to local market needs
Product & Market Expertise
Obtain broad knowledge and speak authoritatively about all AW global product lines
Effectively illustrate AW product/Company differentiation across international markets
Analyze key competitor strengths and weaknesses on a global scale
Monitor current market and industry segment issues across regions
Maintain comprehensive understanding of AW's global distribution relationships
Business Development & Growth
Work with Regional Executives globally to assess BE needs and develop region-specific strategies
Help target specific accounts and prioritize resources across multiple markets
Execute business development plans to achieve stated growth objectives globally
Manage overall broker performance across regions and develop specific growth plans where needed
Distribution Management
Identify new production and product opportunities through portfolio surveys of existing/potential global distribution partners
Enhance AW market share by identifying and qualifying new distributors internationally
Act as distribution partner advocate and serve as valuable resource for global product leads
Coordinate cross-border distribution strategies and manage international broker relationships
Market Presence & Intelligence
Expand AW's global visibility and brand through participation at strategic international conferences
Gather competitive intelligence from multiple markets and distribute to relevant business units
Monitor global industry trends and regulatory changes affecting distribution
Operations & Coordination
Coordinate producer agreements across jurisdictions and mediate potential distribution conflicts
Manage cross-regional collaboration and knowledge sharing
Develop and manage robust global reporting systems that track BE metrics and ROI
Ensure compliance with local regulations and business practices across regions
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant underwriting and/or Business Development experience
International insurance market experience preferred
Experience managing multi-regional or global initiatives
Self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to function independently
Excellent negotiation, influencing and sales/marketing skills
Strong written & verbal communication skills in English; additional languages preferred
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities across time zones
Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively in diverse international markets
Must possess broad network of distribution relationships across multiple regions
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain international business relationships
Understanding of global insurance market dynamics and regulatory environments
Willingness to travel internationally (up to 40-50% travel expected)
Ability to work across multiple time zones effectively
The salary range for this role is between:
Salary Range: $90,000 - 150,000
The above annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below the listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but now limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one component of Allied World's comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.
