    POSITION:                   Manager, Business Development and Organizational Sales
    REPORTS TO:             Director, Business Development and Organizational Sales
     
    ACHE is a hybrid work environment, requiring 2 days per week in our Chicago office and as such, only Chicago area based candidates will be considered.
     
    PURPOSE
    The purpose of this job is to serve our members, customers and co-workers.
     
    SUMMARY
    ACHE Learn provides leadership development and academic publishing solutions for healthcare organizations and higher education institutions. The portfolio includes customized learning, group packages, licensed on-demand learning, and academic publishing resources for healthcare management and related programs.
     
    The Manager, Business Development and Organizational Sales, is responsible for developing and advancing assigned organizational sales opportunities across the ACHE Learn portfolio. Reporting to the Director, Business Development, this role owns day-to-day sales execution for assigned territories, accounts, or market segments, including prospecting, discovery, proposal development, follow-up, CRM management, and achievement of assigned revenue targets. The Manager works under the Director’s strategic guidance and partners with the Partnerships Specialist and internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales engagement to program coordination and delivery.

    JOB FUNCTIONS
    1. Assigned Sales Development and Revenue Execution                                  80% of time
      1. Lead consultative sales efforts for assigned territories, accounts, or market segments across the ACHE Learn portfolio.
      2. Manage business development activities for assigned opportunities, including prospecting, lead qualification, discovery, needs assessment, competitive positioning, product demonstrations, proposal preparation, follow-up, and deal advancement.
      3. Build and maintain a qualified pipeline for assigned accounts using CRM tools to track activity, next steps, opportunity stage, and revenue potential.
      4. Develop and manage day-to-day sales relationships with assigned prospects and clients throughout the sales cycle, escalating executive, pricing, contract, or strategic account matters to the Director, Business Development.
      5. Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and client needs within assigned markets; share insights with the Director to inform positioning, outreach, and future growth opportunities.
      6. Coordinate internal resources needed to advance assigned opportunities, including proposal inputs, contracting support, client materials, and pre-handoff information.
      7. Sell ACHE leadership development solutions to key decision makers within assigned healthcare organizations. (75% of sales responsibilities.)
      8. Sell ACHE academic publishing solutions to key decision makers within assigned higher education accounts. (25% of sales responsibilities.)
      9. Provide regular updates to the Director, Business Development, on assigned sales activity, pipeline status, barriers, market intelligence, and revenue progress.
      10. Coordinate a clear post-sale handoff to the Partnerships Specialist and appropriate internal teams, confirming client expectations, scope, timeline, and key implementation details.
      11. Achieve assigned activity, pipeline, conversion, and revenue targets.
      12. Collaborate with Learning, Marketing, Events, Finance, Customer Service, and the Partnerships Specialist to advance assigned opportunities and support a consistent partner experience.
    2. Sales Metrics, Reporting, and Market Insight                                                 20% of time
      1. Track assigned engagement, pipeline, conversion, and revenue metrics to support sales planning and performance management.
      2. Analyze performance within assigned accounts and markets; provide insights and recommendations to improve outreach, conversion, and revenue results.
      3. Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting to provide visibility into active opportunities, projected revenue, next steps, and sales outcomes.
      4. Other duties as assigned.
     
    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
    • Bachelor’s degree required. 
    • Strong sales background with 4-6 years’ experience.
    • Self-starter with demonstrated success managing consultative sales opportunities, assigned accounts, and revenue goals.
    • Demonstrated ability to sell business services, educational programs, or related products to decision makers in healthcare organizations or health administration higher education.
    • Ability to understand ACHE Learn solutions and position leadership development and academic publishing offerings based on customer needs.
    • Understanding of healthcare organizations, healthcare leadership priorities, and higher education markets sufficient to credibly position ACHE products and services.
    • Strong lead generation, prospecting, discovery, qualification, and follow-up skills.
    • Ability to manage a sales pipeline, maintain accurate CRM records, and use data to inform outreach and account prioritization.
    • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and advance multiple opportunities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
    • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to coordinate across internal teams and support a positive partner experience.
    • Organized and detail-oriented, with sound judgment and professional communication skills.
     
    OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Must have regular and predictable attendance.
    • Ability to travel to client locations, including limited international travel to key markets for ACHE, including the Middle East.

    COMPENSATION
    This is an exempt/salaried role, paid on a bi-weekly basis. We anticipate filling this position in a salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 annually.
     
    This salary range represents ACHE’s good faith estimate of the possible compensation offer for this role at the time of posting. The compensation offered will take the following into consideration: education, relevant experience, certifications, organizational budget, and market estimates for the role.
