In addition, this role will be actively involved in driving process improvements, automation, and the adoption of data and AI-driven solutions across the FP&A function.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze financial results across business units, including variance analysis (actual vs. budget, prior periods, and key drivers)
    • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including involvement in Oracle-based planning implementation and interaction with system-driven data and processes
    • Develop, maintain, and enhance datasets, reports, and dashboards using Excel, Power Query, and Power BI
    • Work with large, structured financial datasets, ensuring data integrity and consistency across reporting outputs
    • Prepare high-quality, executive-level PowerPoint presentations with a strong focus on clarity, structure, and accuracy
    • Translate complex financial results into clear, concise narratives and actionable insights
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive automation of recurring financial reporting and analysis workflows
    • Identify and support practical applications of automation and AI to improve reporting, analysis, and workflow efficiency
    • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and proper documentation across financial reporting outputs
    • Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Systems, and business stakeholders to support reporting, planning, and analysis
    • Support senior leadership requests, including ad hoc analysis and special projects

    Qualifications

    • Strong understanding of P&C insurance accounting and key metrics (e.g., loss ratio, expense ratio, DAC, combined ratio, reinsurance, etc.)
    • Experience in FP&A, Financial Reporting, or Insurance Analytics within a public company or similar environment
    • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail
    • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with Power Query and/or Power BI preferred
    • Experience working with financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Hyperion/FCCS) or similar enterprise tools
    • Demonstrated experience improving processes, automating workflows, or enhancing reporting efficiency
    • Exposure to data analytics tools or AI-driven solutions in a finance context preferred
    • Proven ability to develop high-quality, executive-ready presentations (PowerPoint)
    • Experience in Big 4 or similar environment is a plus, particularly with reconciliation and documentation best practices
    • Exposure to financial supplements, MD&A, or executive-level reporting strongly preferred
    • Exposure to rating agency materials (AM Best, S&P, Moody's) is a plus

    Key Competencies

    • Extreme attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
    • Ability to operate independently and take full ownership of deliverables
    • Balance detailed, hands-on analytical work with the ability to step back and communicate key messages to senior stakeholders and non-technical audiences
    • Quick learner with strong intellectual curiosity and adaptability
    • Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency, automation, and innovation
