    Description

Are you a hospitality pro ready to take the next step in your career?

St. Roch Market is more than a food hall—it’s a historic New Orleans landmark and a launchpad for the city’s next great culinary entrepreneurs. We are looking for an Operations Manager who can balance the art of high-energy hospitality with the discipline of commercial property management.

This is a "boots-on-the-ground" leadership role. You will be the engine that keeps our ecosystem running, serving as both a Direct Operator for our internal service staff and a Guardian of Standards for our community of independent food vendors.

    The Two Hats You’ll Wear:

    1. The Hospitality Pro (Internal Operations)

You will take full ownership of the Market’s internal programs. You aren't just watching the floor; you’re the one making sure the vibe is right and the service is sharp.

    • The Friendly Face: You are a constant presence on the floor, engaging with guests, and handling feedback.
    • Directing the Work: You serve as the "coach" on the floor, directing our service and bar staff to ensure they are productive, professional, and hitting their marks during peak hours.
    • Smart Efficiency: You help keep the business healthy by making real-time decisions, adjusting staffing levels based on the crowd and keeping a sharp eye on inventory and waste.

    2. The Standards Guardian (Vendor & Property Management)

You ensure the Market remains a clean, safe, and world-class destination by managing our community of independent vendor stalls and the building itself.

    • Accountability: You are comfortable having firm, professional conversations regarding cleanliness, and operational hours. You enforce the rules because you understand they protect the reputation of the entire Market.
    • Facility Oversight: You are the point person for the building’s upkeep. You’ll coordinate essential tasks like grease trap scheduling, pest control, and calling in contractors for HVAC or plumbing repairs.
    • Onboarding: You help get new culinary entrepreneurs off the ground.

    Who You Are:

    • A Natural Leader: You enjoy directing a team and have hospitality at heart to keep guests happy and staff motivated.
    • A High-Standard Professional: You believe details matter. You aren't afraid to tell a vendor to clean their station or a staff member to pick up the pace.
    • Agile & Calm: You can switch effortlessly from chatting with a regular at the bar to troubleshooting a maintenance issue with a repair technician without losing your cool.
    • Local Sense: You understand what St. Roch Market means to New Orleans.

    Requirements:

    • 2-3+ years of management experience in hospitality (Bar, Restaurant, or Multi-unit F&B).
    • Exceptional Communication: You can lead a team and manage vendor relationships with professional clarity.
    • Tech Literacy: Proficiency with Square POS.
    • Availability: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays (we are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas).

    Benefits:

    • Starting Pay: $17.00/hr
    • Paid Time Off (PTO)
    • Health Insurance Stipends/Options
    • Free Meals & Shift Drinks
    • Growth Opportunity: Gain experience in property management and culinary entrepreneurship.

To Apply: Please submit your resume and a brief note describing a time you had to lead a service team through a high-pressure shift or a time you had to enforce a rule with a staff member.
