Job Summary:
The Imaging Manager provides leadership for a large multidisciplinary department (typically CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Mammography, X-ray; often Dexa or Fluoroscopy; potentially Interventional and other applicable imaging modalities) with a headcount of over 35 in a Level III Medical Office Building. The Imaging Manager is responsible for all operations, with greater than 60% of employees reporting directly to this role. This leader will work in a union environment (UFCW) with approximately 40 employees across different modalities, partnering with and reporting to an onsite counterpart senior manager.

Compensation & Incentives:
- Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (Paid in two increments: the first half within two pay periods from the start date, and the second half within two pay periods of completing 12 months of employment).

Essential Responsibilities:
- Operations Management: Responsible for FTE and NPE budgets, approving PTO, securing backfill, and approving/entering supply orders.
- Administrative Duties: Manages unsigned studies reports, PACS exceptions, and unended exams.
- Communication: Conducts monthly staff meetings and cascades regional/departmental messages to employees.
- Customer Service: Researches and resolves member concerns; partners with internal customers (Ambulatory, Pediatrics, ACC, Specialties, Pain Clinic, Orthopedics) to improve workflows and resolve issues.
- Employee Management: Responsible for 60-75% of department employees, conducting total performance reviews, supporting employee development, and managing performance in partnership.
- Compliance & Leave: Submits FMLA for impacted employees and partners with Integrated Disability Management (IDM).
- Equipment Oversight: Manages equipment failures, communicates with leadership/call centers regarding patient care impacts, and ensures appropriate documentation.
- Resource & Access Strategy: Identifies trends in exam/patient needs by monitoring volumes and access reports; drafts and submits business and capital cases to the Director.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves):
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of five years of experience as a radiologic technologist, sonographer/ultrasound technologist, mammographer, or nuclear medicine technologist.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum of three years of experience as a radiology Manager. Note: True managerial-level leadership from within the X-ray and/or Imaging arena is strictly required (must have managed 30+ employees, had direct reports, conducted annual reviews, and handled hiring/terminations). Supervisory-level experience alone is not sufficient.
- Industry Experience: Hospital-based radiology/imaging experience.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited diagnostic imaging program OR Bachelor's Degree OR four years of experience in a directly related field. High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Licensure & Certification: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificate (Washington) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Radiologic Technologist Certification OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificate from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Specialized Clinical Skills: Nuclear Medicine experience is highly preferred (can be combined with the required five years of clinical experience).
- Management Skills: Budgeting, finance, and Six Sigma project management.
- Labor Relations: Prior experience working in a union environment.
- Advanced Education: Master's Degree or six (6) years of experience in a directly related field.
- Additional Credentials: Registration in multiple imaging disciplines.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Additional Requirements & Work Environment:
- Regulatory Knowledge: Work experience demonstrating knowledge of hospital regulatory requirements, hospital and imaging accreditations, managed care, and healthcare delivery systems.
- Leadership Competencies: Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, develop, and engage staff, monitor performance standards, deliver results, and hold staff accountable.
- Operational Agility: Effective communication, collaboration, change management, and financial management skills, with the ability to prioritize and respond to multiple issues simultaneously.
- Availability: Medical Office Buildings may be open 24 hours a day and/or 7 days per week.
- Call-In Procedures: Employees call in to their manager 2 hours before the beginning of a shift. Managers must be available by phone as early as 5:00 a.m. for day shifts, or beginning at 5:00 p.m. for evening/overnight shifts.
- On-Call Rotation: Managers are required to participate in an on-call rotation. The rotation requires 24/7 regionwide support, with the frequency determined by the number of managers in the rotation.
