My client, a Chattanooga-based equipment leasing and finance company, is looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to lead a small, mixed-stack engineering team (2 .NET developers and 1 Salesforce architect). In this role, you'll spend most of your time on people leadership — coaching, delivery, and stakeholder alignment — with about a quarter of your time on architecture and technical direction.

Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers (2 .NET developers, 1 Salesforce architect), providing technical guidance, coaching, and professional development.
Guide responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools (coding, documentation, testing, workflow automation), ensuring outputs are reviewed and validated.
Manage resource allocation, workload balancing, and delivery timelines across mixed .NET/Salesforce workstreams.
Provide architectural guidance and technical direction on team projects (roughly 25% of the role).
Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance through code reviews and technical leadership.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
Manage project priorities, risks, issues, and escalations, ensuring timely resolution and delivery.
Coordinate cross-training across the .NET and Salesforce sides of the team.
Serve as liaison with external vendors and technology partners on select projects.
Communicate technical concepts, project updates, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
8+ years of software development experience in the .NET ecosystem
Proven experience managing/leading an engineering team
Strong experience with C#, .NET, JavaScript, Python, and/or Java.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies, software architecture, and modern engineering best practices.
Working knowledge of AI-assisted development concepts (prompt engineering basics, model-assisted coding workflows, responsible AI governance).
Nice-to-have (not required): Salesforce, Databricks, Azure Functions, Azure Web Services, Azure SQL Services, responsive web application development.
