About Alvarez & Marsal

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global consulting firm with entrepreneurial, action- and results-oriented professionals. We take a hands-on approach to solving our clients problems and helping them reach their potential. A&M is different by design: we give people ownership and impact from day one, fuel development through real opportunity, and provide direct access to leaders who invest in our growth. Our culture celebrates independent thinkers and doers who positively impact clients and shape our industry. Guided by A&M s core values of Integrity, Quality, Objectivity, Fun, Personal Reward, and Inclusive Diversity, our collaborative, globally minded environment is why our people love working at A&M.

The Team

A&M's Private Equity Performance Improvement Services (PEPI) practice, with offices throughout the US, focuses on serving upper middle market and large cap private equity firms who have engaged A&M to help improve operating results at their portfolio companies. The companies we assess are in the upper middle market 50 million to 1 billion plus range.

How you will contribute

Our Technology Industry Group offering brings a structured and disciplined approach to create and capture value. We provide corporate and equity buyers with a broad continuum of knowledge and tools for performance management, mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, joint ventures and alliances.

The team works across the full spectrum of the deal and company lifecycle from pre-deal technology, operational and synergy reviews, through Day-1 planning, to post-deal implementations, and performance improvement. Our projects often include evaluation of, or initiatives related to product and technology functions across the deal and company lifecycle, which requires an understanding of the product roadmap and portfolio, architecture, and SDLC processes.

Engagement types and responsibilities include:

  • Assess product strategy, roadmap, and portfolio mix to ensure alignment with business objectives and market opportunities. This includes identifying gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for rationalization or expansion.
  • Complete product feature parity assessments and develop recommended product integration strategy for M&A activity for competitor companies
  • Assess product team structures, roles, and interaction models to evaluate collaboration, agility, and accountability, and recommend improvements for scaling and efficiency.
  • Evaluate KPIs, OKRs, and analytics frameworks that measure product success, customer impact, and ROI. Examine decision making processes to see if they are data-driven and tied to measurable outcomes.
  • Evaluate and/or conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and customer feedback reviews to validate product-market fit and identify innovation opportunities. Evaluate offerings to determine differentiation and alignment with user/market needs.

How will you be supported?

We offer excellent opportunities for career advancement and leadership development. Our leadership team provides career growth, training, and exposure to international business assignments.

Build your skillset by providing valuable insight into how an entire business goes through the change process. And as we help our technology focused PE and corporate clients outperform the market, you will add real value too. All the while, you can broaden your technology experience across the TIG industry groups and enjoy unlimited opportunities to progress as part of a fast-growing team.
