We are partnering with a leading, nationally recognized construction firm seeking an experienced Manager, Project Accounting to join its growing Dallas team.

Description
- Oversee project accounting activities for multiple large-scale construction projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage project financial reporting, including revenue recognition, profitability, cash flow, job costing, and project reconciliations.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly and annual financial reports, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes related to assigned projects.
- Partner with project managers and business unit leaders to monitor project budgets, costs, financial performance, and profitability.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 1-3 project accounting professionals.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal audits and support external audit requests.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and company procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and financial systems.
- Communicate financial risks and project performance updates to senior leadership.
- Support strategic initiatives and ongoing improvements within the project accounting function.

Profile
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong background in project-based accounting.
- Construction industry experience required, ideally within a large, nationally recognized general contractor.
- Prior experience managing and developing direct reports.
- Strong knowledge of job costing, project reconciliations, revenue recognition, and project financial reporting.
- Experience supporting large-scale, complex, multi-year construction projects.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal accounting controls.
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large general contractors or national construction organizations.
- Exposure to technology, industrial, data center, or mission-critical construction projects.
- Experience with JD Edwards, Oracle, or Power BI.
- Experience supporting projects valued at $50M+.
- Demonstrated success improving accounting processes, reporting systems, and team efficiency.
