Overview:
Responsible for leading the design,development, integration, and certification with engine and/or propellermanufacturers along with systems such as fire extinguishing, fire detection,engine controls, engine indications, powerplant cooling, fuel systems,induction, and exhaust on both the SR and SF platforms as well as new projects.Direct reports include individual contributors and range from 10-20 engineersand/or designers of varying experience. Candidates will also be responsible for coordinating and leadingdevelopment and system integration work with subcontractors and externalsuppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with other aircraft disciplines, including structural and electrical disciplines, along with engineering flight test, airworthiness and experimental, across the Cirrus Aircraft platform.
- Work with a multi-discipline team on propulsion system design development.
- Identify, select, and coordinate with component and system suppliers.
- Active involvement in development and certification of powerplant systems under FAR Part 23 or Part 33.
- Research industry guidance documents for best practices, e.g. SAE, ASTM, RTCA.
- Systems engineering technical process definition and execution.
- Provide technical mentoring on thermal analysis, modal analysis and vibration, fluid dynamics and propulsion system architecture.
- Perform and/or approve thorough trade studies involving weight, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Author, check and/or approve 3D models and drawings of propulsion systems in Creo.
- Author, check and/or approve documents including test plans and reports, certification reports, and other engineering documents.
- Approve work orders to build or modify experimental aircraft and other ground test articles.
- Active performance management of direct reports: facilitate weekly team meetings to ensure alignment to project goals and team commitments, 1:1 meetings, performance improvement as necessary, and annual reviews.

Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree inAerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of experience inaircraft propulsion systems
- 3+years of leadership experience
- Demonstratedexpertise in aircraft systems or airframe structures
- Abilityto demonstrate sound judgement
- Ability to effectivelymanage stress, including competing work demands and multiple projects at the sametime.
- Must have strong writtenand verbal communication skills on technical issues and have a high level ofinitiative to fill gaps when necessary.
- Proficient in MicrosoftOffice (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Teams).
Preferred:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Propulsion systems experience

Salary Range: USD $151,565.82/Yr. - USD $227,348.73/Yr.
