Supervises all campus monitors and coordinates the activities of School Resource Officers and any additional campus security personnel within their region. Ensures consistent implementation of District safety standards, completion of door checks, emergency operations plans, and standard response protocols. Works collaboratively with campus administrators and District departments to create and maintain a safe and secure learning environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSDirects and coordinates day-to-day safety and security operations for all campuses within an assigned region.Supervises all campus monitors assigned to campuses in the assigned region, including interviewing and hiring recommendations, scheduling, daily assignments, coaching, performance evaluation, timekeeping approval, and recommendations for corrective action.Coordinates the activities of all School Resource Officers and any additional campus security personnel within their region. Deploys and adjusts security coverage across the region based on campus need, enrollment, scheduled events, absences, and identified risk; arranges coverage for emergencies and after-hours events.Provides direction to security monitors, safety officers, and temporary or contracted security personnel working in the assigned area during emergency operations, special events, and extended-day assignments.Serves as lead on behalf of the Safety & Security Department with campus administrators, law enforcement, security staff, District departments, and community partners for the assigned region.Elevates campus safety by providing accurate and professional guidance on security-related topics, identifying safety hazards and security risks, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of safety, security, and emergency events occurring on assigned campuses.Reviews incident reports originating from region campuses for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness, and ensures distribution to appropriate contacts at juvenile probation, law enforcement agencies, Student Discipline & Placement, and Safety & Security.Monitors the annual update and maintenance of campus emergency operations plans for all campuses in the region, and verifies that required drills are conducted, documented, and debriefed.Responds to calls for assistance at campuses during emergency situations and supports or assumes on-scene coordination until relieved by a higher authority.Conducts routine campus safety and security assessments; documents findings, recommends corrective action, and tracks deficiencies through resolution.Provides guidance and advice to students, parents, and administrators when school policy and/or law violations have occurred.Instructs and trains monitors, administrators, and campus staff in standard response protocols, access control, security systems, and other security-related systems and equipment.Participates in and presents at staff meetings to provide training on standard response protocols and securityrelated topics in assigned schools as requested.Compiles and analyzes region incident, staffing, and response data; prepares summaries and recommendations for the Regional Director.Assists with recommendations for area staffing levels, equipment, overtime, and supply needs; reviews and approves monitor payroll and overtime within delegated authority.Participates in investigations of safety and security incidents and related matters as assigned.Transports students and/or District employees in district vehicles as needed.Ensures assigned staff are trained in, and adhere to, established safety procedures and the proper use of District-issued equipment. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Accredited High School diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency required; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Certification/License: o Required: Valid Texas driver's license; Insurable by the District's insurance carrier. o Preferred: Current CPR/AED and first-aid certification; Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification.
