Position Summary \n \nSUMMARY OF POSITION:\n \nResponsible for operating mandrel inspection and mold machines, set laser O.D. and mandrel lube operation.\n \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n \n1. Must be capable of following and meeting standard work requirements including but not limited to:\n \na. Selecting proper mandrel and set-up inspection and mold and/or weld machine, prepare tank with correct lube and set proper traverse setting\n \nb. Operating mold machine, paying particular attention to any defects like cracks, excess rubber, alignment of mold and smoothness of outer surface\n \nc. Measuring the O.D. of mandrel with O.D. and/or Pi tape or sliding calipers to determine if the mandrel is within the specification limits of diameter and ovality.\n \nd. Preparing the lube tank, agitate the lubricant properly, and apply a consistent application of lubricant to the mandrel. \n \n2. Operator will ensure quality by identifying and eliminating known defects by cutting out any known defects and splicing ends together.\n \n3. Assure all necessary documents required are properly prepared and completed.\n \nDEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\n Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.\n \n\n Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.\n \n\n Maintain production schedules.\n \n\n Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.\n \n\n Other duties may be assigned later.\n \n\n \nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\n \nEducation required:\n \nHigh School diploma or GED\n \nExperience:\n \nProduction work preferred but not required\n \nPreferred Skills/Qualifications:\n\n Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills\n \n\n Basic knowledge and use of hand tools\n \n\n Sound decision making skills\n \n\n Good math, reading, writing skills\n \n\n Demonstrated mechanical aptitude\n \n\n Mental and visual acuity for production of quality product\n \n\n Strong trouble shooting skills\n \n\n \nSkills/Competencies:\n \n1.
