Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Manifold Fabricator specializing in manufacturing standard and custom vaporizers. In this role, you will manufacture, assemble, and test standard and custom pressure vessels, gas manifolds, and vaporizers utilizing aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel pipe and plate. Because these systems are designed to securely contain pressurized gases, this position heavily demands high-integrity TIG (GTAW) welding with zero-defect tolerances. The ideal candidate has strong blueprint proficiency, extensive experience with pressure-retaining components, and an absolute commitment to safety and quality workmanship. - Execute x-ray quality TIG (GTAW) welds on various sizes of aluminum and stainless steel pipe, plate, and tube manifold assemblies.
- Clean, purge, cut, bevel, and fit-up pipe joints and valves to exact configurations before welding, ensuring a 100% leak-free seal.
- Read and accurately follow intricate drawings, blueprints, and weld procedure specifications (WPS) to fabricate manifold tubing systems.
- Create and utilize shop jigs to safely align and secure valves, bull plugs, and hardware into tube bushing manifolds during fabrication.
- Visually inspect completed welds and assist with pneumatic or hydrostatic pressure testing to verify structural containment integrity.
- Utilize grinders, small hand tools, tube cutters, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment safely.
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols regarding gas containment, ventilation, and workspace cleanliness.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of TIG welding and fabrication experience, specifically working with pressure vessels, piping networks, or gas distribution manifolds.
- Strong proficiency in TIG (GTAW) welding on aluminum and stainless steel; basic familiarity with MIG (GMAW) welding for skid frames and chassis structures is preferred.
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills, with the ability to read standard inches, fractions, scale weights, and differentiate metal grades.
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs, stoop, crouch, kneel, and perform high-precision welds from restricted or awkward angles.
- Overhead crane certification and forklift training are highly preferred (in-house training provided if necessary).
