Manufacturing Brazer and Welder

Pay Range: $22.00hr - $32.00hr

Job Overview:

The Manufacturing Brazer and Welder is responsible for hot work operations in the production of downhole drill bits. This includes preparation, welding or brazing, and finishing operations to manufacture products according to drawings, specifications, and other forms of instruction.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize an acetylene torch or induction heating unit to braze polycrystalline diamond cutters into steel and tungsten carbide drill bits.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, and grind component parts.
• Detect faulty operation of equipment and materials.
• Examine work for defects.
• Operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
• Use the guiding principles and tools of the manufacturing system to drive continuous improvement, wherever applicable.

Required Skills:

• Experience with welding processes, preferably Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW).
• Ability to use hand tools, grinders, and related manufacturing equipment.
• Basic computer skills, including email, spreadsheet access, data entry, and timekeeping systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience brazing in oilfield or downhole drilling tool production environments.
• Experience working within SAP or similar systems.

Education & Certification Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Welding certifications from vocational or technical training programs preferred but not required.

Safety & PPE:

• All personal protective equipment (PPE) is supplied by the organization.
• All required work tools are supplied by the organization.
• Respiratory protection is required for portions of the position.
• Compliance with manufacturing safety procedures is required.
