Job Description

Title: Manufacturing Engineer (Ops)

Reports To: Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering

Role Classification: Full-Time / Salaried Exempt

Travel: Up to 30% (cross-site line commissioning, vendor qualification, process transfers)

Position Overview

We are seeking an execution-focused, hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join our Industrialization team. In this role, you will take advanced power-generation electromechanical hardware from early development and prototype builds into repeatable, high-rate production lines.

This is a builder role in a fast-paced environment where product architectures evolve rapidly. You will own physical assembly cells, line architecture, custom tooling and fixture fabrication, material flow systems, and formal process validation from the shop floor up.

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field) required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably with exposure to engine, genset, electric motor, or precision electromechanical assembly operations.
  • Hands-on experience contributing to assembly line and cell design, from concept layout through installed and qualified production use.
  • Hands-on experience in fixture, jig, and tooling design — designing, building, and qualifying fixtures, not only specifying them.
  • Experience taking prototype and low-volume builds into repeatable production processes.
  • Familiarity with business case drivers and value creation. Ability to objectively compare and rationalize options for the path forward.
  • Aerospace or other precision manufacturing industry experience is preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt) beneficial.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, access equipment in confined or elevated positions, and occasionally lift and move materials up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Compliance with all site PPE and safety requirements is mandatory.
  • Temporary extended on-site oversight for new process development preferred.
  • Ongoing travel to company engineering and production sites up to 30%.
