As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work independently and lead the preparation, execution, and evaluation of complex analyses to improve manufacturing planning, production methods, and problem resolution. Your work will directly influence production flow, tooling, equipment selection, assembly methods, and overall manufacturing efficiency within a Production or Post-Production environment.

This role combines technical expertise, cross-functional leadership, and continuous improvement to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost performance.

Must have SAP and Solumina experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Author detailed work instructions to optimize process efficiency and achieve zero-defect opportunities in collaboration with Operations Engineering.

  • Develop DRDI/DMT rework instructions to support effective corrective actions.

  • Create and maintain MBOM in SAP, Solumina, or Corridor to ensure all engineering-defined parts are properly installed during assembly.

  • Generate make-or-buy proposals, evaluate vendors, participate in negotiations, and assist in resolving supplier-related issues.

  • Conduct research and analysis to ensure conformance with engineering and regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare justifications for equipment and facility investments.

  • Perform productibility studies from engineering drawings.

  • Apply statistical methods to forecast manufacturing requirements and generate supporting data and reports.

  • Prioritize workload based on production schedules and provide accurate completion estimates.

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional project implementation across multiple organizations.

  • Develop and present business cases for process improvement initiatives.

  • Incorporate Lean Manufacturing methodologies into current and future processes.

  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles as both a team member and leader.

  • Support safety, sustainability, ergonomic, and quality initiatives.

  • Supervise, assign, review, and train subordinate personnel when required.

  • Assume ME Group Head responsibilities in their absence.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have SAP and Solumina experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing engineering, planning, or related technical experience.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint reading, and shop mathematics.

  • Experience using computerized systems such as SAP, Solumina, Corridor, CADAM, and CATIA.

  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Ability to independently conduct technical analyses and produce detailed documentation.

Additional Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification.

  • Proven experience implementing Lean concepts including 5S, JIT, SMED, KanBan, Value Stream Mapping, and One Piece Flow.

  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma or other data-driven decision-making methodologies.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams or supervising personnel.

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
