Manufacturing Engineer
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Sturtevant, WI
Pay: $80-85k
Bonus- 6% Corporate Performance Bonus
Sterling Engineering is partnering with an established manufacturer to hire a Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations, improve assembly processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on engineering opportunity focused on optimizing manufacturing efficiency, quality, cost, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily production operations in a mixed-model assembly environment.
- Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Design, specify, validate, and implement tools, fixtures, and production equipment.
- Identify opportunities for error-proofing and process improvements.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and DMAIC methodologies to resolve production issues.
- Collaborate with production teams, technicians, and Engineering to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges.
- Develop and maintain standard work instructions and process documentation.
- Implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Support new product development and manufacturing launches.
- Analyze manufacturing data to improve quality, capacity, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
- 2+ years of manufacturing, process engineering, operations engineering, or mechanical design experience.
- Experience developing and implementing manufacturing or assembly processes.
- AutoCAD experience required.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.
- Experience supporting new product development and production launches.
- Ability to analyze data and develop process improvement plans.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mixed-model assembly operations.
- Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, or material flow.
- Project management experience.
- Experience with tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment implementation.
