Company Overview:

Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. At Joby, we've been working to make that dream a reality since 2009 and we're now in the final stages of certifying our aircraft with the FAA. With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.

Overview:

We are seeking a motivated individual with leadership and technical expertise to join our team as a Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Supervisor. In this role, you will lead and oversee a team of technicians maintaining, repairing, and optimizing critical manufacturing and automated equipment to ensure production uptime, safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure consistent execution of equipment maintenance procedures, preventative maintenance (PM) schedules, and safety protocols
  • Lead troubleshooting and corrective maintenance efforts on automated equipment, CNC machinery, process ovens, autoclaves, vacuum systems, and material handling gear
  • Track, analyze, and report team performance metrics using UpKeep
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts to eliminate process or equipment failures and execute corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Develop work centers and team practices to support Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and 5S standards
  • Direct and mentor team members through individualized skill development, standard operating procedure (SOP) training, and performance management
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors, engineering, and facilities teams to support equipment installations, upgrades, and retrofits
  • Manage maintenance spare parts inventory, tools, and resource allocation to minimize downtime
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines, environmental standards, and routine safety audits across all maintenance cells
  • Support flexible production schedules, including shift handoffs and overtime requirements as needed
  • Responsible for 24/7 operations
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant equipment maintenance experience (or 5–7+ years of equivalent skilled industrial/equipment maintenance experience without a degree), including 1–3 years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting capabilities on automated or industrial equipment
  • Working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs, and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Proven track record of leading and developing technical team members in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interpret complex technical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage shift handoffs effectively
