We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Manufacturing Manager to oversee daily production operations within a precision machining environment. This leadership position is responsible for managing CNC and manual machining operations, coil production, production scheduling, workforce development, equipment utilization, quality performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in CNC machining, demonstrated manufacturing leadership experience, and the ability to optimize operational performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

This role requires close collaboration with engineering, production planning, quality assurance, maintenance, and senior leadership to achieve operational objectives, improve productivity, and ensure on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Scheduling

• Develop, implement, and maintain daily and weekly manufacturing production schedules.

• Coordinate with production planning, engineering, and other departments to meet customer delivery commitments.

• Monitor production performance and adjust schedules to address operational priorities.

• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective measures to maintain workflow efficiency.

Team Leadership & Workforce Development

• Supervise and mentor CNC programmers, machinists, machine operators, and production shift leads.

• Provide technical guidance and operational direction to manufacturing personnel.

• Conduct employee performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and manage corrective actions when necessary.

• Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development activities.

• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and safety-focused manufacturing environment.

CNC Machining & Manufacturing Operations

• Oversee CNC milling, CNC turning, manual machining, and coil manufacturing operations.

• Develop and execute operational strategies to improve manufacturing processes and production efficiency.

• Ensure machining operations meet engineering specifications, production targets, and quality requirements.

• Monitor departmental performance and provide daily guidance to achieve operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

• Collaborate with senior leadership to establish, evaluate, and improve departmental KPIs.

• Support troubleshooting and resolution of manufacturing challenges.

Equipment, Tooling & Inventory Management

• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maximize machine availability and minimize downtime.

• Monitor equipment performance and collaborate with maintenance teams to resolve operational issues.

• Oversee tooling inventory, material purchasing, and tool crib management.

• Ensure the availability of required manufacturing materials, tools, and equipment.

• Support cost-effective resource allocation and inventory control practices.

Continuous Improvement & Performance Reporting

• Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve workflow, reduce waste, and optimize productivity.

• Identify and implement process improvements focused on efficiency, quality, and operational performance.

• Track and analyze manufacturing KPIs, including:

  • Production efficiency and throughput

  • Scrap and material waste

  • Equipment downtime

  • On-time delivery performance

• Prepare operational reports and communicate performance metrics to senior management.

• Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence across manufacturing departments.

Customer & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate with engineering, quality, production planning, and maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing issues.

• Support Requests for Quotation (RFQs), labor estimates, and manufacturing cost evaluations.

• Assist with part quoting and production feasibility assessments.

• Respond to technical inquiries and provide production progress updates to customers and internal stakeholders.

• Maintain effective communication between shop-floor operations and management.

Safety & Operational Compliance

• Promote a safety-first culture throughout manufacturing operations.

• Ensure employees follow established safety procedures, company policies, and quality requirements.

• Maintain compliance with workplace safety and hazardous waste disposal procedures.

• Complete required job-specific training and ensure departmental personnel maintain applicable training requirements.

• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within machining operations.

• Strong technical knowledge of CNC milling, CNC turning, and manual machining processes.

• Proficiency in selecting and using precision inspection equipment and measurement techniques.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

• Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

• Working knowledge of standard office computer applications.

• Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage production priorities, personnel, and operational resources effectively.

• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, teamwork, and professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent manufacturing shop experience will also be considered.

• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Experience managing CNC programmers, machinists, shift leads, and production personnel.

• Knowledge of production scheduling, equipment maintenance coordination, and tooling inventory controls.

• Experience developing and monitoring manufacturing KPIs.

• Familiarity with RFQs, labor estimating, and manufacturing cost analysis.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Position involves working in industrial manufacturing facilities with CNC machines, production equipment, and machining operations.

• Required personal protective equipment may include safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe footwear, and additional designated safety equipment.

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift as required to perform essential job responsibilities.

• May require reaching above shoulder height or below waist level.

• Must follow proper lifting techniques and established workplace safety procedures.

• Ability to safely access confined work areas when necessary.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $100,000 $130,000

Compensation will be determined based on relevant manufacturing experience, technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and qualifications.
