    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Our prestigious client, a leading chemical provider of cleaning, sanitizing, and water treatment products and services have an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Manager. The successful candidate will be experienced in discrete manufacturing possess strong leadership skills and be a hands-on manager, with a strong work ethic.  This position will oversee the production, quality control, planning and inventory areas.  
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  In addition to the management of direct reports our candidate must be able to:
    • Direct management of the order fulfillment process. Identify process problems and fulfillment issues and coordinate solutions. Maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction by ensuring delivery commitments is met.
    • Develop, document, communicate, enforce, and maintain standard operating procedures for all manufacturing functions with the Shepard Bros. organization.
    • Direct and manage company logistics both internal and external.
    • Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical information to appraise operating results regarding profitability, performance against budget, and other matters of bearing on fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
    • Manage departmental budgets and maintain a plan to accommodate existing and expected future operation requirements to support the business plan. Identify cost-saving opportunities
    • Ensure that all state, county, and industry requirements are being met, and the warehouse and production areas are in full compliance with governmental agencies assuring the facility operates at a superior quality and output level.
    • Establish and maintain optimum production processes and equipment.
    • Create an environment that is conducive for employees to report quality-related non-conformance and to commute opportunities for quality improvement.
    • Work with appropriate departments to develop and implement process improvements and streamline procedures to improve inter-department communication.
    • Responsible for hiring, mentoring, and managing all operation departmental employees to ensure job compatibility, and company and employee success.
    • Complete performance appraisals and review job descriptions of assigned personnel each year.
    • Maintain a professional relationship with vendors co-workers, and management.
    • Display positive attitude and maintain cooperative working relationships with departmental managers and all other employees.
    • Participate in meetings to share, develop, and acquire new information which will allow management to maximize its effectiveness.
    • Train new members to maximize efficiency and productivity in their respective positions.
    • Supply adequate input to CEO and upper management to provide accurate feedback for use in production, administration, finance, and sales decisions.

    • Possess a thorough understanding of the chemical distribution business and the products sold.
    • Expert and proven ability to document processes and procedures.
    • Experience in financial management.
    • Ability to prioritize work to meet time sensitive deadlines.
    • Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
    • Possess a high level of skill with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
    • Possess excellent written and communication skills. 
    Education and Experience                                                                                                         
    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent,
    • Five years related work experience.  Knowledge of chemicals is preferred.
