Manufacturing Process Engineer (Cosmetic OEM/ODM)

Position Summary

Englewood Lab is seeking a Process Engineer to support the development, optimization, and implementation of manufacturing processes for cosmetic and personal care products.

This position will work closely with R&D, Production, Quality, and other departments to ensure the successful transfer of new products from laboratory development to full-scale manufacturing. Key activities include process development, scale-up, pilot batches, first production runs, validation, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Support technical transfer and scale-up activities from laboratory development to pilot and full-scale production.

• Coordinate pilot batches, first production runs, and validation activities with R&D, Production, Quality, and customers, as applicable.

• Conduct process development experiments and support manufacturing process optimization.

• Develop, review, and revise manufacturing procedures and related documentation.

• Support daily compounding and batching operations, including troubleshooting, batch adjustments, and process improvements.

• Identify and resolve manufacturing process deviations and non-conformance issues.

• Improve manufacturing efficiency, process capability, and production output while maintaining product quality.

• Support OTC product validation activities and assist R&D and QC in resolving formulation and quality-related issues.

• Assist with equipment setup, evaluation, and improvements to support successful product transfers.

• Develop and execute Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) activities, as needed.

• Support filling and assembly operations, including line trials and preparation of filling and assembly instructions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• 2–5 years of experience in cosmetic, personal care, or related manufacturing industries.

• Experience in manufacturing processes, process development, scale-up, or production support preferred.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively with R&D, Production, Quality, and other cross-functional teams.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

• Spanish language skills are a plus.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 10–15 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary Range: $55,000–$70,000

Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and abilities.
