The Project Engineer at delivery of capital projects, equipment installations, and process improvement initiatives. This position works closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, quality, EHS, analytical development, and packaging, to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget while supporting manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
•Support planning and execution of capital projects and engineering initiatives, including scope development, cost estimation, scheduling, and progress tracking.
•Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support safe, timely, and cost-effective project execution.
•Assist in equipment evaluation, procurement support, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
•Participate in design reviews and process safety reviews (e.G., HAZOP/PHA) for new and modified equipment and systems.
•Monitor project budgets, schedules, and milestones;track and communicate progress, risks, and scope changes to project stakeholders.
•Collect and analyze process and equipment data to support engineering evaluations, project justifications, and operational decision-making.
•Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process issues that arise during project execution, startup, and handover to operations.
•Support development of project documentation, including capital project requests, scopes of work, engineering drawings, and turnover packages.
•Participate in process trials, validation activities, and engineering studies.
•Support development and updates of technical documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and engineering reports.
•Ensure project and engineering documentation aligns with internal quality and regulatory standards, including change control requirements.
•Work cross-functionally with operations, quality, maintenance, EHS, supply chain, and engineering teams to support operational and project objectives.
•Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving process efficiency, reducing downtime, and supporting cost optimization.
Requirements
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
•4+ years of experience in a complex chemical, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environment. Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or industrial environments will be considered
•Exposure to process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
•Experience working with engineering data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, etc.)
•Exposure to project management fundamentals (e.G., scoping, scheduling, budgeting, stakeholder communication) and familiarity with industrial equipment, manufacturing processes, or automation systems;experience with project management tools (e.G., MS Project, Smartsheet) is a plus
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively across functions and organizational levels.
•Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment while independently managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated setting.
