These values create a culture where innovation thrives, collaboration is encouraged, and employees are empowered to make a meaningful impact.If you're looking to join a company committed to growth, sustainability, and excellence, DMI offers an environment where your contributions truly matter.OVERVIEWThis role is responsible for increasing revenue and improving profitability within their Strategic Business Unit (SBU) through the application of Lean Manufacturing principles, Manufacturing Engineering excellence, continuous improvement, cost reduction, waste elimination, and effective Project Management.RESPONSIBILITIESBe an active member of the SBU Efficiency Team seeking to identify, develop, and implement cost reduction opportunities throughout the factory and product lines.Be a project management professional, planning, scheduling, and leading all projects to successful completion in the shortest possible time, at the lowest possible cost, and always on time, and at or below budget.Become the resident expert in Manufacturing Engineering techniques and principles related to equipment, products, and processes under his/her responsibility.Monitor and analyze production cost data to prioritize SBU Efficiency Team efforts to significantly reduce and control costs, increase production efficiencies (parts per hour), and increase throughput.Champion the use of automation through the integration of new technologies.Be an expert in solids modeling (SM), utilizing SM techniques in all machinery and process documentation, including advanced techniques such as animation, and 3-D models.Be the technical expert for all equipment utilized in their area of responsibility.Identify all critical to quality (CTQ) processes and parameters and provide procedures, sign offs, product documentation, and training to production operators.Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Perform a variety of complicated tasks utilizing a wide degree of creativity and latitude.Travel may be occasionally requiredEDUCATION & SKILLS4-year Engineering Degree required; typical degrees would be:BME – Bachelor of Mechanical EngineeringBSME – Bachelor of Science of Mechanical EngineeringBMET - Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering TechnologyBSIE - Bachelor of Science in Industrial EngineeringProduct development Experience 2 to 5 yearsNPDP certification a plusExperienced in VOC (Voice of the customer) a plusRapid Product development techniques a plusQFD, 3P, X-functional teamsProject management experienceMicrosoft Project experience a plusPMP certification a plusWork experience in a manufacturing environment, concepts, practices and proceduresMetals Manufacturing Experience Preferred, ideally, sheet metalSolids modeling experienceKnowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma conceptsMS Office Suite experienceWHY JOIN DMI COMPANIES?DMI Companies is committed to being a preferred employer, and our comprehensive benefits package reflects that commitment.
