Summary
Scientist I / Manufacturing Scientist responsible for producing and analyzing fluorescent protein-based products to meet customer requirements and timelines. We are seeking a detail-oriented laboratory professional with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related discipline. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in general chemical and biological laboratory techniques, with knowledge of bioconjugation chemistry. This role involves producing, purifying, and analyzing fluorescent protein-based products, including fluorescent dye-labeled antibodies and other biomolecules, using HPLC, FPLC, and gravimetric separation techniques while ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of laboratory activities.
Responsibilities
- Produce, purify, and analyze fluorescent protein-based products according to customer requirements and established timelines.
- Perform purification and analytical testing of fluorescent dye-labeled antibodies and other biomolecules using HPLC, FPLC, and gravimetric separation techniques.
- Analyze, interpret, and document scientific data using specialized laboratory techniques and technical knowledge.
- Perform routine chemical and biological laboratory procedures while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional departments and team members.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and quality requirements.
- Support departmental goals and business objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, and timely completion of assignments.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on experience with general chemical and biological laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Knowledge of antibody handling, purification techniques, pipetting, UV-Visible spectroscopy, and safe handling of biological materials and chemicals.
- Familiarity with HPLC, FPLC, and gravimetric separation techniques for biomolecule purification and analysis.
- Experience with bioconjugation chemistry is preferred.
- Ability to analyze and interpret scientific data accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform laboratory activities for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move materials weighing approximately 20 lbs.
