Manufacturing Technician

Pay Rate: $28.75 per hour

Location: Plymouth, MN

Hours: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Mon-Thu)

Summary:

• Provide front-line engineering and production support in a clean-room manufacturing environment.
• Work closely with Operations and Assemblers to troubleshoot production issues, investigate scrap, monitor line performance, and provide technical coaching and support.

Responsibilities:

• Provide production support in clean room >90% of day, responding to escalations from Operations (e.g., scrap, process questions, equipment issues).
• Build SME-level knowledge of manufacturing processes, techniques, and best practices and support Operations team in coaching assemblers.
• Investigate scrap generated throughout the shift and understand root cause through dissection and assembler observation/discussion.
• Provide data-driven and evidence-based feedback and coaching to assemblers on scrap.
• Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and documentation, as required.
• Proactively monitor line performance and drive immediate corrections or escalations.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to work as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Ability to work with assemblers and other non-technical personnel.
• Ability to teach and coach others.
• Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams.
• Adept at handling multiple assignments in a timely manner to meet assigned deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Direct production support (front line, day-to-day hands-on experience).
• Manufacturing technician or technologist experience.
• Prior medical device experience.
• Trade school certification, specialized training/apprenticeship and/or equivalent in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or other equivalent.
• Training or babysitting experience as it demonstrates coaching/teaching ability.
