A.J. Rose Manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Training & Development Coordinator to lead employee onboarding, training, and workforce development initiatives. This role will help ensure employees are properly trained, supported, and prepared for long-term success in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities - Manage all production floor onboarding activities following HR orientation.
- Develop and maintain standardized onboarding programs for each department.
- Create individualized training plans based on job requirements.
- Ensure all new hires receive and properly use required PPE.
- Introduce employees to company safety practices, quality standards, and production expectations.
- Conduct onboarding follow-ups at 30, 60, and 90 days.
Develop department-specific training matrices and skill progression plans. - Standardize training materials, work instructions, and training documentation.
- Monitor training completion and competency validation.
- Ensure consistency of training across shifts, departments, and locations.
- Maintain training records in Learning Management System and compliance documentation.
- Identify and develop and certify qualified trainers and mentors.
- Match new employees with appropriate trainers based on skill, experience, and communication ability.
- Provide coaching and support to trainers and mentors.
- Evaluate trainer effectiveness and provide feedback.
- Design career development and skill progression pathways for production employees.
- Create cross-training and skill enhancement programs.
- Support employees seeking advancement into higher-skilled positions.
- Work with leaders to identify development opportunities and succession planning needs.
- Track employee skill progression and readiness for advancement.
- Audit training effectiveness and adherence to established standards.
- Monitor and report training completion while partnering with supervisors and managers to ensure accountability for training execution and employee competency.
- Monitor employee performance during training periods.
- Identify training gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Report onboarding, training, certification, and cross training metrics to leadership.
- Ensure an effective, engaging and successful onboarding experience that supports employee retention and productivity.
- Serve as a resource for new employees during their transition into production.
- Recommend improvements to onboarding effectiveness, workforce capability, training retention, employee development and cross training participation.
- Design and facilitate classroom, hands-on, and job specific training as necessary.
- Work closely with production supervisors to develop leadership capabilities , coaching effectiveness, and workforce development practices.
Education: - Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Management, Education or related field is preferred.
Experience: - 5+ years of Training experience, preferably within manufacturing, automotive or a related industrial environment.
- Experience in developing training systems, onboarding, or workforce development preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety requirements, and continuous improvement principles.
Essential Skills: - Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and capabilities.
- Strong communication and coaching abilities.
- Training program development and facilitation skills.
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
