Description

Job Summary:
  • Experience: 5+ years in highly automated manufacturing (7+ preferred); 3+ years leading people (5+ preferred); 3+ years in a similar role
  • Education: BA/BS in Science, Industrial Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent)
  • Work Arrangement: Minimum 4 days/week on-site; spends > 50% time on production floor
  • Other: English fluency required; steel toe non-slip shoes on floor; no jewelry/false nails/dermals (must cover dermals); smoke-free campus
Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for achieving strategic, operational, and functional goals including SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) targets.
  • Develops and mentors team to drive production results, associate capability, and ownership.
  • Coordinates all manufacturing unit activities, sets priorities, and translates targets into individual, measurable goals for each associate.
  • Develops and leads unit budget, headcount, production schedules (with Logistics), and delivery performance.
  • Champions change initiatives, resolves issues timely with servant leadership, and facilitates excellence implementation (e.g., TMS cycle, DTM processes like CIL/CL).
  • Conducts yearly performance reviews, ensures active development plans, and holds regular 1:1s with team members.
  • Ensures timely assessments of hourly associates via mentor activities and resolves concerns (involves HR as needed).
  • Builds personal mastery in operations, people management, and excellence practices while upholding company values.
  • Ensures compliance with quality systems, safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required; maintains regular, punctual attendance.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Technical, Functional, Behavioral)
  • Technical: Quality systems knowledge; computer literacy (Microsoft Office); financial competence (budgets, product costs, waste, standard costs); logistics and planning knowledge; safety and ergonomics expertise; troubleshooting in highly automated environments.
  • Functional: Project management; analytical/problem-solving; decision-making; independent thinking/self-driven; runs TMS/DTM cycles and excellence processes.
  • Behavioral: Team building and ability to work as part of a team; effective oral/written communication; servant leadership; change agent who develops strategies for higher production levels and talent training.
