Marcella's Evening Host / Front of House

Marcella's Lasagneria is hiring a part-time Evening Host to run our front of house Monday through Friday, 5 pm to 9 pm. You're the first person guests meet: you greet them, take orders, keep the dining room ready, and make every customer visit a good one.

Marcella's is a fast-casual Italian kitchen in San Francisco's Dogpatch, operated by DPG LLC, the team behind Dogpatch Games. You'll work alongside our evening kitchen team and the staff at Dogpatch Games next door.

Reports to: Shannon Newton, Owner Location: 1099 Tennessee St., San Francisco, CA Type: Part-time, Monday–Friday, 5 pm–9 pm (4-hour shifts)

What you'll do

Guests and orders

• Greet every guest, explain the menu, and options. Upsell when appropriate.

• Take orders and payments on Toast, including pickup and delivery orders.

• Run food, check on tables, and handle guest questions or concerns, looping in the kitchen or owner when needed.

Dining room

• Keep the dining room, counter, and restrooms clean and stocked through the evening.

• Bus and reset tables; restock napkins, utensils, to-go supplies, and drinks.

• Complete the front-of-house closing checklist at 9 pm.

Team

• Communicate with the kitchen on order timing, 86'd items, and special requests.

• Support catering pickups and private events when they fall on your shift.

• Work well with the Dogpatch Games team next door.

What you bring

Required

• Speaks English.

• Able to earn a California ABC Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification within 30 days of hire, as required to serve alcohol.

• Available Monday–Friday, 5 pm–9 pm.

Preferred

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.

• Restaurant or customer service experience.

• Experience with Toast or a similar point-of-sale system.

Schedule, pay, and how to apply

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5 pm–9 pm (4-hour shifts).

Pay: $20–22.50/hour, depending on experience, plus shared tips.

Benefits: This part-time role does not include benefits, other than paid sick leave as required by California and San Francisco law.
