Master Millwork Carpenter, Custom Fabrication

Join DURATION Moulding & Millwork—the Wholesale Manufacturing Division of Hamilton Building Supply—in our custom shop, where CAD-driven designs become flawless architectural wood components. You’ll bring complex drawings and blueprints to life with precision, craft, and pride. Compensation is commensurate with your experience and carpentry skill level.

A day in this role

Your morning begins by reviewing CAD drawings and blueprints, clarifying scope with the team, and planning machine time to hit key milestones. As the day unfolds, you mill parts, operate shop equipment, and track materials used—keeping paperwork tidy and complete for every work order. You label finished jobs per SOP so teams outside the DURATION® shop can identify them instantly. Between runs, you clean, store, and service tools, maintain a safe, orderly space, and look for 2 Second Lean and 6 Sigma improvements that keep the shop humming. When needed, you move equipment and materials to staging and production areas to keep work flowing.

What you’ll do

• Partner with teammates on work orders to confirm scope and best build practices.
• Record all materials consumed and submit completed production paperwork to the office.
• Plan and work within machine schedules to maximize efficiency and meet timelines.
• Operate the tools and machinery required to complete custom millwork.
• Clean, store, and maintain tools/equipment for peak performance and safety.
• Label jobs per SOP for clear identification by staff outside the DURATION® shop.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace; use hearing protection, goggles, and gloves appropriately.
• Continuously improve shop procedures using 2 Second Lean and 6 Sigma thinking.
• Move equipment and materials to staging and production areas as needed.

About you

• Exceptional hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills.
• Comfort with basic math; adept at reading and using a tape measure.
• Clear communicator who reads and follows detailed instructions.
• Takes direction well and applies sound judgment on the floor.
• Organized, detail-focused, and able to juggle multiple tasks.
• Understands and follows safety practices and procedures.
• Demonstrated, strong carpenter skills.
• Can lift 50 lbs. independently and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
