  • Evaluate material availability and proactively identify shortages, bottlenecks, and capacity imbalances.
  • Support Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes through data-driven analysis and recommendations.
  • Balance inventory levels, customer service requirements, and operational efficiency.

Systems & Data Management

  • Maintain and optimize scheduling processes within the ERP system (SAP preferred).
  • Ensure planning parameters, bills of material, routings, and master data support accurate scheduling outputs.
  • Utilize SAP, IBP, or equivalent planning tools to evaluate alternative scheduling scenarios and assess feasibility.
  • Participate in system implementations, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), process improvements, and validation activities.
  • Generate and analyze scheduling metrics and performance reports to support business decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the primary liaison between Global Supply Planning and plant operations.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Product Management to align customer priorities and delivery commitments.
  • Provide guidance and direction to Finite Planners and Shop Floor Schedulers to ensure alignment with the Master Production Schedule.
  • Partner with Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and maintain execution stability.
  • Support strategic initiatives and business priorities by aligning production plans with organizational goals.

Communication & Customer Commitments

  • Establish and communicate achievable customer order dates based on available capacity and material supply.
  • Provide timely updates regarding schedule changes, constraints, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Represent plant scheduling capabilities, constraints, and production risks during SIOP meetings and leadership reviews.
  • Publish and communicate schedule adherence, service metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on schedule performance, lead-time reduction, inventory optimization, and service improvements.
  • Drive standardization of planning and scheduling practices across facilities when applicable.
  • Develop and enhance KPIs, reporting tools, and performance dashboards.
  • Identify root causes of schedule instability and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Promote best practices in production planning, capacity management, and supply chain operations.
