Position Summary
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing the daily and short-term production schedule for a single manufacturing facility. This role serves as the central coordination point between Project Management, Production, Purchasing, Production Planners and Operations to ensure customer commitments are achieved through effective utilization of labor, equipment, and materials.
The Master Scheduler owns plant-level schedule execution and is accountable for translating demand into actionable production plans while proactively identifying capacity constraints, resource conflicts, and schedule risks.
The Master Scheduler provides direct leadership and oversight for Production Planners responsible for departmental and work center scheduling. This role ensures production planning activities are aligned with plant priorities, customer commitments, and overall operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Production Scheduling & Execution
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and short-range production schedules.
- Sequence work to maximize equipment utilization, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery performance.
- Balance workloads across departments and work centers within the facility. Inclusive of part sequencing consistent with Logistic transit strategies.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address changing priorities or constraints.
Capacity Management
- Maintain visibility to plant capacity, labor availability, and machine utilization.
- Identify and escalate operational bottlenecks, including unplanned machined downtime, to Purchasing timely to keep projects on track against established milestones.
- Recommend schedule adjustments to improve throughput and service levels.
- Provide regular capacity and schedule status updates to plant leadership.
- Work with Maintenance department to schedule preventative maintenance to reduce impact to production attainment.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with Director of Cost & Strategy Optimization, Production Strategy Project Manager, Project Management, Production and Purchasing to align production plans.
- Lead or participate in daily production planning meetings.
- Ensure smooth handoffs between planning, manufacturing, and fulfillment functions.
- Escalate schedule risks and recovery plans as necessary.
Continuous Improvement
- Improve scheduling processes, planning tools, and reporting capabilities.
- Support implementation of planning systems, dashboards, and automation initiatives.
- Drive best practices related to scheduling accuracy and production visibility.

Required
Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field; equivalent manufacturing planning experience considered.
Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to develop and maintain complex planning models, capacity analysis tools, production schedules, dashboards, and executive reporting. Ability to transform large data sets into actionable scheduling, resource planning, and operational insights.
Advanced knowledge of:
- Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts
- Power Query
- Complex formulas (XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, IF/IFS, nested formulas)
- Conditional Formatting
- Data Validation
Preferred
- APICS/ASCM Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM).
- APICS/ASCM Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
- Lean Manufacturing Certification.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
- Advanced ERP/MRP planning system training or certification.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $67,350 USD - $89,805 annually. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate's location, experience, and other job-related factors.
