Role OverviewThe BSA Material Assistant Manager oversees material purchasing, customs compliance, inventory control, and logistics operations. This role supports the establishment and ongoing operations of MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC, ensuring materials are available at the right time, cost, and quality to support production. The position works closely with suppliers, internal departments, and headquarters to maintain efficient material flow, inventory accuracy, and supply chain performance.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)Manage material purchasing, inventory control, logistics, and customs compliance to ensure uninterrupted production.Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers, customs brokers, and logistics providers.Monitor material requirements, inventory levels, supplier performance, and potential shortages.Maintain purchase orders, inventory records, and material master data within SAP and related systems.Coordinate engineering changes, production requirements, and new program launches to ensure timely material availability.Oversee import/export activities, customs clearance, trade compliance, and duty management.Develop and maintain logistics processes, transportation plans, warehouse layouts, and material flow strategies.Monitor logistics costs, inventory accuracy, and key supply chain performance metrics.Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory management, logistics operations, and supply chain efficiency.Ensure compliance with FIFO, inventory control procedures, and company material management standards.Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, material movement, cycle counting, and returnable packaging management.Coordinate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and headquarters teams.Prepare reports, analyze data, and recommend actions to improve operations and reduce costs.Supervise, train, and develop hourly warehouse staff, including performance management and employee relations support.Support plant startup activities, business growth initiatives, and other duties as assigned.AUTHORITY & SCOPEThis role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility.
