Job Description
Top Prospect Group is seeking an experienced Material Control Attendant to support material handling, inventory management, and production operations at a well-established manufacturing facility in the Bronx, NY.
This is a 6-month temporary-to-permanent opportunity offering long-term career potential for candidates with experience in material control, stockroom operations, inventory management, shipping and receiving, or manufacturing logistics.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform material control functions, including kitting, tracking, staging, and moving materials according to written procedures and engineering drawings.
- Assemble material kits accurately to support production and manufacturing operations.
- Handle shipping, receiving, warehousing, and stockroom activities while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Conduct inventory cycle counts and maintain organized stockroom and shelf locations.
- Utilize computerized inventory systems to verify stock levels, research transactions, and process material receipts and issues.
- Support production teams by delivering and expediting materials to designated work areas.
- Identify, document, and track material shortages to minimize production delays.
- Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure compliance with established procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in material control, stockroom, inventory, warehouse, or related operations, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory management, material tracking, and computerized inventory systems.
- Ability to read and interpret written work instructions and engineering drawings.
- Experience with material kitting, shipping and receiving, and inventory cycle counts.
- Strong mathematical, counting, and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of English measurement systems and willingness to learn Metric measurements.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and measuring equipment.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and safety.
Work Environment
- Active manufacturing and material handling environment.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs or ladders.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull materials weighing at least 40 pounds.
- May involve working around production equipment, forklifts, and other industrial machinery.
- Must follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
