Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Material Expeditor to ensure the timely and efficient flow of materials and equipment. This role involves working closely with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to track orders, manage inventory, and address potential delays ultimately supporting production schedules.
Shifts:
1st - 7am to 330pm
1st shift OT - 10 hours days plus 1 weekend day minimum
Pay: $22
2nd - 3pm to 1130pm
2nd shift OT - 10 hour days plus 1 weekend day minimum
Pay - $22.75
4th - 7am to 730pm - Friday - Sunday
4th shift OT - 2x - 10 hour days during the week
Pay: $24.50
5th - 7pm to 730am - Friday - Sunday
5th shift OT - 2x - 10 hour days during the week
Pay: $24.50
Key Responsibilities
Order Management:
- Track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of materials and equipment.
- Follow up with suppliers and vendors to expedite orders and resolve potential issues.
- Verify supplies and communicate expected delivery dates with suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage supply requisitions.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and material status.
- Identify and resolve shortages or discrepancies.
- Communicate with management, work teams, and other departments about potential delays or concerns.
- Collaborate with production control, purchasing, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and external suppliers.
- Identify and implement improvements to optimize material flow and reduce delays.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and regulations.
- Assist with shipping and receiving functions.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; three months or more of relevant experience and/or training preferred.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of supply chain principles, logistics, and ERP systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling multiple priorities effectively.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
- Valid driver's license or equivalent.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in relevant software and ERP systems.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
- Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, SOPs, customer orders, etc.).
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide in whole numbers, fractions, and decimals).
Physical Requirements
- Regularly use hands, reach, talk, and hear.
- Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally sit, climb, or balance.
- Regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs., frequently up to 50 lbs., and occasionally over 100 lbs.
- Visual requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Exposure to warehouse environments with varying temperatures (hot, humid, cold).
- Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals.
- Use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, foot protection, etc.) as required.
