Position Overview

PROLIM is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler 2 to support material movement, warehouse, shipping, and receiving activities at Northrop Grumman's San Diego facility.

The selected candidate will handle, transport, load, unload, organize, and record materials using a variety of manual and powered material-handling equipment. The role may also support shipping and receiving operations and requires the ability to safely handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Key Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and convey materials within or near the plant, yard, or worksite.
• Perform shipping and/or receiving activities as directed.
• Open containers using appropriate hand tools.
• Count and weigh materials and accurately record information.
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, and machines.
• Load and unload materials into or from trucks manually.
• Move materials using:
• Forklifts
• Hand trucks
• Electric dollies
• Wheelbarrows
• Elevators
• Other material-handling equipment
• Stack and organize materials safely and efficiently.
• Assist machine operators by lifting heavy objects manually or using power hoists.
• Support general warehouse and material-handling activities.
• Follow applicable safety, handling, and workplace procedures.
• Maintain accurate material and inventory records.

Basic Qualifications

• Previous warehouse or material-handling experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Valid California Driver's License.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to operate a delivery vehicle.
• Ability to safely perform physical material-handling activities.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with SAP and/or MRP systems.
• Forklift operating experience.
• Experience with shipping and packaging to military specifications (Mil-Spec).
• Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or other industrial environments.
• Ability to obtain and retain a security clearance.
• Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory, and material tracking.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions.
