Shift: 2nd Shift
Schedule:

• Monday–Thursday: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM

• Friday: 11:00 AM–7:30 PM

Job overview for the Material Handler role:

SMS Staffing is seeking experienced Material Handlers with a strong background in shipping and receiving, warehouse staging, in-bond/out-bond processing, and RF scanner operations.

Key responsibilities for the Material Handler role:

• Perform shipping and receiving activities, including verifying incoming and outgoing materials.

• Stage materials for shipments, deliveries, production, and storage.

• Process in-bond/out-bond transactions and maintain accurate documentation.

• Use RF scanners to scan, track, and verify materials.

• Operate forklifts, powered pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.

• Load, unload, transport, and store materials safely.

• Maintain accurate inventory records and complete required paperwork.

• Follow all safety procedures when handling hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Required qualifications for the Material Handler Role: 

• Minimum of 2 years of forklift experience.

• Basic math, reading, and writing skills.

• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to follow safety procedures in a safety-sensitive environment.
