General Summary
The material handler is responsible for the receipt, movement, put away, picking, inventory and issuing of various materials within the assembly warehouse. In this role, the material handler will directly support the assembly plant in the assembly of natural gas processing, refrigeration, and compression equipment. This role will include receipt, verification, documentation and unloading of material; labeling and put away of material; picking material for orders from inventory; and kitting, staging, and delivering material to assembly bays for scheduled projects. This individual must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to multitask is a must. Individual will be required to track and manage multiple production orders simultaneously in various stages of the material handling process. Executes position with a continuous improvement mindset and emphasis on maintaining warehouse appearance and organization.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
Initial verification of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries against the Purchase Order Receiver.
Detailed verification of technical requirements specific to the material being received against the Purchase Order Receiver.
Labeling and timely put away of material.
Identifying and locating the correct material during the picking and kitting process.
Picking and staging of production orders utilizing forklifts, ladders, and pallet jacks.
Keeping an accurate and updated account of stock and inventory.
Collaborating with internal and external customers to verify priorities, locate missing material, fix incorrect deliveries, and replace damaged material.
Qualifications
Minimum of two years' previous working experience in material handling, warehousing, or related field; direct experience in the handling of oil and gas material components preferred.
Inventory Control and SAP experience desired.
Physically fit with the ability to lift objects weighing 50 pounds.
Forklift experience; will be tested & certified in house.
Knowledge of operating other warehouse machinery.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Working Conditions
Fast-paced manufacturing area with heavy equipment transiting constantly. Immediate work area is in a warehouse and outdoors with continued activity even when moderate weather rolls in. Will be required to work on your feet for 75% of the day.
