Description

Do you take it personally when a label is wrong or a part gets to the wrong bay?

Are you the kind of person who already knows where everything is - and notices immediately when something's not where it belongs?

Do you feel the pull of a fast-moving floor and a shift that actually ends on time because you ran it right?

Are you the teammate the build line depends on - and you wouldn't have it any other way?

If this sounds like you, then we need to talk…

Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is currently seeking a Material Handler (Levels I-III) to join our Distribution team at our Houston production facility. Material Handlers are the engine behind Frazer's build lines - keeping parts, materials, and inventory moving so the people who build life-saving vehicles never have to wait. Whether you're just getting started in a warehouse career or you're a seasoned handler ready to step into a lead role, there's a level here for you.

What Does a Week in the Life of the Material Handler Look Like?

  • Pulls materials from warehouse stock to fill production orders and requisitions - and makes sure every item is labeled and logged before it leaves the shelf.

  • Walks the floor delivering issued materials to production work centers, keeping every build bay stocked and on schedule before the shift ends.

  • Runs the system - issues material out in the WMS before physical delivery, so inventory counts stay honest and the data matches the floor.

  • Monitors KanBan levels at assigned work centers and replenishes before the line notices a gap.

  • Handles material returns, urgent substitutions, and job-order changes without breaking stride.

  • Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and product pickers to move heavy and bulky materials safely across a busy warehouse floor.

  • (Level III) Trains incoming handlers, sets the pace on the floor, and steps in as the first point of escalation when the supervisor is out.

Required Education and Experience:

  • (Level I) 0-1 year of experience in warehouse, material handling, or a manufacturing environment.

  • (Level II) 1-3 years of material handling experience with demonstrated proficiency in inventory management and system accuracy.

  • (Level III) 3+ years of material handling experience; proven ability to lead, train, and own process outcomes.

  • Proficiency with warehouse management software; ability to issue, track, and reconcile inventory in the system.

  • Ability to operate pallet jacks, product pickers, and forklifts following Frazer certification training.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Forklift certification and documented equipment experience in a manufacturing warehouse.

  • Experience with KanBan systems or lean manufacturing practices.

  • Familiarity with ERP or inventory management platforms (Job Manager, ShopTrack, or equivalent).

Skills (to Pay the Bills)

Here's a list of a few competencies that the Material Handler at Frazer should have…

  • You're precise by nature - a mislabeled part or a quantity that doesn't match the screen bothers you until you fix it.

  • You follow through without being chased - if you said it's getting there by end of shift, it gets there.

  • You're steady and dependable - you show up, keep your pace, and take care of your equipment like it's yours.

  • You know your way around a warehouse system - you don't need someone to walk you through issuing and tracking materials every day.

  • You communicate like a pro - when something's out of stock or a delivery is at risk, you say so before it becomes someone else's problem.

  • You take pride in your craft - you do things the right way because that's just how you work, not because someone's watching.
