    ROLE AND PURPOSE: Perform various distribution center duties which include filling supply orders, loading and unloading trucks, taking inventory, moving large amounts of furniture and equipment during and after normal working hours and assisting Distribution Center Foreman in all distribution operations. Drive trucks for deliveries when appointed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Certification:

    • High School Diploma or GED is not a requirement.
    • Valid Texas Driver's License with satisfactory driving record

    Experience:

    • Minimum of one year of experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment or related work.

    SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

    • Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
    • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including a manual, electric, or fuel-powered forklift and pallet jack.
    • Basic computer knowledge and skills preferred.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    I. WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS:

    • Receive and fill orders for supplies and equipment.
    • Assist in taking physical inventory
    • Deliver supplies and equipment, including furniture
    • Complete work orders which may include, but are not limited to, supplies, materials, instructional materials, and picking up surplus property or furniture, fixtures and equipment
    • Assist distribution center foreman in all distribution operations as assigned
    • Prepare required reports
    • Maintain good housekeeping and perform facility cleaning operations as needed

    II. FACILITY AUDITS AND INSPECTIONS:

    • Perform facility audits and inspections to ensure all district distribution facilities are safe and compliant with district, state or local standards
    • Document and remediate non-conformances or deficiencies in distribution facilities in a timely manner

    III. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

    • Participate in professional organizations at local and state levels, as necessary.
    • Expand knowledge and expertise in warehouse, logistics, distribution, and supply chain management.

    IV. SCHOOL/COMMUNITY RELATIONS

    • Promotes a positive image of the district and maintains a positive working relationship with parents and the community.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the district through effective communication.

    V. MISCELLANEOUS

    • Position may require overtime, as necessary, to maintain the function of District facilities.
    • Position will respond to service calls in a timely manner while serving call-in duty, as necessary to maintain the function of District facilities.
    • Any other duties may be directed by your immediate supervisor and/or any other supervisor within your line of authority.

    VI. WORKING CONDITIONS:

    MENTAL DEMANDS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

    • Tools/Equipment Used: Small hand tools; power tools; light truck or van. Equipment repair tools, vacuum, high-speed and low-speed buffer, blower, auto-scrubber, carpet extractor, burnisher, walk-behind, stand-on, ride-on equipment, and all other equipment necessary for District use.
    • Posture: Bending, lifting, or stooping, reaching above shoulder level, working with machinery, driving vehicle and/or equipment, moving furniture or equipment, climbing ladders, stairs, ramps, scaffolds, walking, and sittinG.
    • Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders/scaffolding, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving
    • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry 55 or more pounds without assistance. Occasionally move objects up to 75 pounds; ascend/descend ladders, scaffolding ramps, and poles.
    • Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, noise, and vibration; exposure to chemical and electrical hazards; work around machinery with moving parts; may work alone; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours; frequent district wide travel
    • Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress.
