Job Summary: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>

The Material Handler - Structural Steel / Overhead Crane Operator <\/span>is responsible for <\/span>safely moving, loading, and positioning structural steel beams, plates, and assemblies throughout the production facility using indoor gantry cranes and rigging equipment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/p>

This role plays a critical part in supporting fabrication, welding, and shipping operations by ensuring materials are delivered accurately, efficiently, and safely to the <\/span>appropriate workstations. The operator must <\/span>demonstrate <\/span>strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety when handling large steel components.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Responsibilities:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>

<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div>

• Operate indoor gantry cranes to move structural steel beams, plates, and assemblies throughout the facility<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Safely rig, lift, and position steel materials using slings, chains, chokers, and other rigging equipment<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Load and unload materials from fabrication areas, workstations, and staging zones<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Support production flow by delivering materials to welding, cutting, and assembly stations <\/span>in a timely manner<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Stage and organize materials for production and outbound shipment<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Inspect rigging equipment and crane functionality prior to use and report any issues<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

• Ensure proper load balance, stability, and securement when lifting and transporting materials<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Communicate clearly with team members using hand signals or radio when moving loads<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

• Maintain clear pathways and safe work zones during material movement<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Assist <\/span>with inventory tracking and material identification as needed<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

• Coordinate with production, welding, and <\/span>logistics <\/span>teams to meet daily production goals<\/span><\/span><\/span>

• Maintain a clean and organized work area<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>Qualifications:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span>

<\/p><\/div>Experience: <\/span>Minimum <\/span>2+ years of experience in material handling within a manufacturing or structural steel environment preferred<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Experience operating overhead or gantry cranes strongly preferred<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Basic knowledge of rigging practices and load handling preferred<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Strong attention to safety and detail<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/p><\/div>Monday-Friday, 1st Shift (6:00am - 2:00pm), 2nd Shift (2:00pm - 10:00pm), 3rd Shift (10:00pm - 6:00am)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
