Job Description

Job Title:Material Handler - Injection Molding

Department:Manufacturing

FLSA Classification:Non-Exempt

Reports to:Supervisor

Primary Purpose:Handling and stocking various materials to support production staff in the manufacturing process

Essential Functions:

·         Support production by maintaining sufficient material at line

·         Provide vacation coverage

·         Maintain accurate material blend ratio, brand/upgrade as always required using the FIFO system (First in-First out)

·         Perform material and line changeovers as instructed, safeguarding contamination

·         Remove product from machines as instructed

·         Maintain machine, plant, warehouse cleanliness

·         Complete all appropriate paperwork

·         Stage materials for upcoming changeovers

·         Obtain a Hi-Lo License and operate safely at all times

·         Complete daily Hilo inspection sheet

·         Report on quality and safety issues to include needed repairs to immediate supervisor

·         Perform color changes per work schedule

·         Empty all rubbish containers at the end of each shift

·         Remove old identification from containers prior to re-use

·         Perform inventory control as needed

·         Kaizen, 5s, Housekeeping

Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma or equivalent

·         2 years’ experience in a plastics manufacturing environment (preferably automotive)

·         Knowledge of inventory control

·         Outstanding attendance record

·         Light administration duties to include chart management

·         Interpersonal communication skills

·         Basic math skills
