STS Technical Services is hiring a Material Specialist I in Liberty, Missouri. This is a regular full-time, non-exempt role supporting material planning, inventory control, receiving, stocking, delivery and shipment operations in a manufacturing and production environment.

The Material Specialist supports both internal and external customers by ensuring accurate material flow throughout the facility. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, computer literate, comfortable with inventory systems and able to work in a fast-paced production environment where accuracy, communication and follow-through matter.

Position Summary

The Material Specialist I is responsible for supporting timely and accurate material planning, receiving, stocking, delivery and shipment activities. This position also supports inventory control, data accuracy, system updates, material handling equipment operation and process improvement initiatives that help maintain efficient material flow across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain accurate inventory through timely and precise data entry
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and system issues
  • Identify and correct receiving problems
  • Monitor and maintain inventory stock levels
  • Support engineering changes through allocation and inventory adjustments, including CN maintenance
  • Collaborate daily with internal and external customers to deliver exceptional service
  • Assist with corporate material initiatives such as cycle counts, Inventory Stock Location management, bin consumption tracking and related activities
  • Support material planning, receiving, stocking, delivery and shipment processes
  • Help maintain accurate records and efficient material flow throughout the assigned operations facility

Minimum Qualifications

  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet business and production demands
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance in person and on site
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • 6 months to 2 years of general office practices experience
  • Ability to pass internal Powered Industrial Equipment license testing
  • Ability to operate various pieces of equipment in the assigned operations facility, including stand-up and sit-down equipment

  • May involve exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery and temperature fluctuations
  • May require standing for extended periods
  • May require repetitive motions, bending, kneeling, climbing and use of tools and equipment
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
  • Must be able to push and pull up to 50 pounds and up to 30 pounds sustained
  • Proper personal protective equipment must be worn when required
  • Visual and auditory acuity are needed for safe equipment operation and effective communication in a busy workspace
