Materials Buyer

Our client, a manufacturing organization, is seeking multiple Materials Buyers for their Austin, TX location. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of supply to enable efficient manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a thorough understanding of the company, its processes, and customers.
• Analyze and solve a range of straightforward problems using standard procedures.
• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Follow up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
• Adhere to standard purchasing business processes.
• Drive and ensure timely delivery/shipment of parts from suppliers to factories.
• Resolve shipment/receiving and billing issues with suppliers.
• Collaborate with suppliers on demand/supply issues and manage inventory reduction efforts.
• Negotiate and execute purchases and RFQs to achieve the lowest cost while ensuring quality and reliability.
• Resolve supply issues with key stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, and program managers.

Requirements:

• Solid understanding of the industry’s key business drivers.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex information.
• Competencies in creativity, supplier selection, inventory management, and problem resolution.
• Experience in supplier negotiations, relationship management, and material cost management.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1-2 years of experience in Buyer/Purchasing roles.
