Our client, a manufacturing organization, is seeking multiple Materials Buyers for their Austin, TX location. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of supply to enable efficient manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
Develop a thorough understanding of the company, its processes, and customers.
Analyze and solve a range of straightforward problems using standard procedures.
Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
Follow up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
Adhere to standard purchasing business processes.
Drive and ensure timely delivery/shipment of parts from suppliers to factories.
Resolve shipment/receiving and billing issues with suppliers.
Collaborate with suppliers on demand/supply issues and manage inventory reduction efforts.
Negotiate and execute purchases and RFQs to achieve the lowest cost while ensuring quality and reliability.
Resolve supply issues with key stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, and program managers.
Requirements:
Solid understanding of the industry’s key business drivers.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex information.
Competencies in creativity, supplier selection, inventory management, and problem resolution.
Experience in supplier negotiations, relationship management, and material cost management.
Bachelor’s degree.
1-2 years of experience in Buyer/Purchasing roles.
