Materials Engineer
The Materials Engineer at Deceuninck North America is responsible for identifying and recommending materials for new product and product improvements based upon assessments of economic and technical factors to ensure design and manufacturing objectives are achieved.
What you will do:
- Submit material selection recommendations for new products considering factors such as strength, weight and cost.
- Plan and implement laboratory operations to develop material and fabrication procedures for new materials.
- Develop and build relationships with material producers to assist in the investigation and evaluation of different materials for product application.
- Track and report data on product failures. Interpret laboratory tests and analysis to identify and address potential material and process causes.
- Keep meticulous records and laboratory notebooks documenting work.
What you bring:
- Bachelor''s degree preferably in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Chemistry.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical information. Ability to write reports and business communications. Effectively present complex information to employees, management, customers and clients.
- Ability to use mathematical concepts such as probability, geometry, trigonometry and statistical inference.
- Strong problem-solving skills and work ethics.
- Knowledge of word processing, development, design and project management software.
