Support materials engineering, laboratory analysis, materials testing, and manufacturing process improvement. Work with materials such as metals, plastics, chemicals, finishes, and ceramics while supporting Materials Engineering Lab operations, troubleshooting, audits, and quality activities.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Perform materials analysis, testing, and sample preparation.
Support feasibility testing and analyze data to validate engineering solutions.
Assist with engineering standards, specifications, and process instructions.
Perform inspections and recommend corrective actions.
Troubleshoot laboratory equipment, processes, and analytical issues.
Support product development and manufacturing engineering projects.
Identify process gaps and support continuous improvement/change management.
Maintain laboratory procedures, analytical methods, equipment, and 5S standards.
Manage laboratory work requests, samples, parts, and consumables.
Maintain inventory and track orders, pricing, reservations, and deliveries.
Enter and maintain laboratory data in SAP/production systems.
Perform laboratory audits and maintain monthly/quarterly audit spreadsheets.
Support heat-treatment process changeovers and adjustments.
Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, suppliers, and internal teams.
Support approval and evaluation of new laboratory consumables.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
2-year Associate technical degree or equivalent work experience.
Understanding of part prints, process instructions, and industry standards.
Basic–moderate knowledge of ferrous machining and materials analysis.
Basic knowledge of production and laboratory equipment.
Understanding of equipment maintenance and quality processes.
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to develop technical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication.
Experience with process control and analytical analysis.
Shop-floor or laboratory experience.
Experience with production systems/databases.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Excel and engineering software.
Preferred Qualifications
Heavy equipment/manufacturing experience.
Materials engineering or laboratory experience.
Manufacturing process, materials analysis, or heat-treatment experience.
Experience with process problem-solving teams.
Technical leadership or mentoring experience.
SAP or similar production system experience.
