MBD Controls

The MBD Controls Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and verifying control algorithms for Carrier CTD new product development and sustaining programs. The role involves using MATLAB and Simulink to develop control algorithms, perform unit and integration testing, analyze control issues, and support laboratory testing. The engineer will also work on thermal simulations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure control system performance, reliability, and product quality.

• Control algorithm implementation and verification for Carrier CTD NPD and sustaining programs.
• Develop and refine control algorithms in Simulink, ensuring compliance with system specifications and performance requirements.
• Develop, execute, and refine unit and integration tests in MATLAB and Simulink to verify control algorithms against control requirements.
• Utilize MATLAB, Simulink, and FMI Toolbox for model-based verification and validation.
• Support lab testing by analyzing results, identifying control-related issues, and implementing corrective actions to improve system performance and reliability.
• Experience with thermal simulation.
• Master's or Ph.D.
• 15+ years of experience preferred
• Master's degree (MS) or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Develop and implement control algorithms using MATLAB and Simulink.
• Support new product development (NPD) and sustaining engineering programs.
• Perform unit and integration testing of control algorithms.
• Use MATLAB, Simulink, and FMI Toolbox for model-based development.
• Analyze control system issues identified during laboratory testing.
• Troubleshoot problems and implement corrective actions.
• Support thermal simulation and system performance analysis.
• Verify control algorithm functionality against system requirements.
• Collaborate with controls, software, hardware, and testing teams.
• Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and engineering updates.
• Support continuous improvement of control strategies and product performance.
