Position Overview:

For over 50 years, the cornerstone of our business has been our Meat Department at Caraluzzi's. We offer some of the highest quality meats at great prices and a better selection than any butcher shop. We are always looking for butchers that are knowledgeable, passionate, and have a knack for helping customers with their needs, whether it's a simple cooking recipe or helping them get that perfect cut of beef. If you have previous experience as a meat cutter, along with a positive attitude and desire to learn, Caraluzzi's is the place for you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Cut, trim, grind, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, and other meat products to company standards.
• Package, wrap, label, price, and stock fresh meat products for display and sale.
• Maintain attractive, well-stocked meat displays while rotating product and monitoring freshness and expiration dates.
• Assist customers with product selection, cooking recommendations, and special cut requests.
• Ensure all products meet company standards for quality, presentation, and food safety.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas, cutting equipment, coolers, and display cases.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.
• Support department operations and work collaboratively with team members.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of meat cuts, trimming techniques, and product quality standards.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to assist customers with product recommendations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in a multi-temperature environment, including refrigerated areas.
