Must be enrolled in a Vehicle Maintenance/Diesel Technician program and be able to dedicate at minimum 2 years (4 Semesters.) to the Apprentice program. Must be able to maintain a 3.0 GPA
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Must have basic comprehension and math skills, intermediate computer experience.
Capable of understanding and following oral and written instructions
Must be able to maintain a valid VA driver’s license
Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
Willingness to work Flexible Schedule in a 24/7 work environment

Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Position is a maximum of twenty-five (2S) hours per week
Maintain full time status and GPA of 3,0 at designated higher education learning center
Develop entry level understanding of all systems onboard the fleet transportation vehicles
Perform Oil and Lube Services
Assist in performing Preventative Maintenance inspection and proper documentation
Assist Mentor with routine repairs/maintenance of equipment
Ability to continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal and informal training sessions in order to stay updated with rapidly changing transit technology
Maintains an organized service department workspace
Maintain a customer-focused attitude to complement a high level of motivation and energy
Contribute to a positive work environment
lnteraction with other Fleet personnel. Minimize waste.
Exhibit knowledge and use of proper safety equipment at all times
Follow Company attendance policy
Must successfully pass established competency test for step progression
