Position Details
Under the direction of the Director of Transportation and/or designated supervisor, the Mechanic Trainee assists with the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of District vehicles, school buses, and equipment while developing the knowledge and skills necessary to qualify for and perform the duties of a Bus Mechanic. The Mechanic Trainee works under the guidance and supervision of qualified maintenance personnel and progressively assumes additional responsibilities as competency and required certifications are obtained.
